═══ 1. About Eplus ═══ EditPlus (EPlus) started as an unplanned project when frustration set in from using the OS/2 provided text editors: The OS/2 System Editor and the OS/2 Enhanced Editor. The OS/2 System Editor is great for editing small text files but lacks some key features found in other text editors that improve productivity. The Enhanced Editor has more features than necessary and can be a little too much for editing simple text files. EPlus tries to fill the gap between these two editors. It is actually an enhancement of the OS/2 System Editor. Some of the additional features provided in EPlus are: ■Menu selectable printing and print setup ■Line and column number indicator ■Popup menu with editing functions ■Memory of last four open files ■Optional toolbar ■Automatic file backup This current release of EPlus contains various imperfections and is therefore considered a freeware beta. The goal is to polish this version, evaluate feedback from users, and then make a decision on future development efforts. Future enhancements to EPlus will include: ■Speed improvements (e.g., faster loading) ■Tool bar enhancements ■Background printing and saving capabilities ■Tab width adjustment selection ■Addition of some drag and drop features Enjoy this version of EPlus and watch for newer and improve versions at your favorite BBS or FTP site! ┌────────────────────────────────────┐ │This software is supplied with no │ │warranty, neither expressed nor │ │implied.
