Device driver version: VCN: 849-6.3 ____________________________________ NEW OS/2 INSTALLATIONS: **************************************************** To install the IN-2000 IN2000.ADD OS/2 2.x/3.x driver, you will need to copy the IN2000.ADD driver file to a copy of the IBM OS/2 diskette labeled "DISK 1" (Disk 2 of the Service Pack). If there is not enough free space on the floppy, you will need to delete some other .ADD driver from the diskette (one that you will not need for this installation). You will then need to modify the CONFIG.SYS on DISK 1 (Disk 2 of Service Pack) to load the driver. A sample CONFIG.SYS called CONFIG.OS2 has been zipped in with this file to show how the driver should be loaded. You may add support for LUNs by adding the "/et" to the IN2000.ADD load line in config.sys. ** This version of the driver also supports Scatter Gather. ** This driver supports SCSI tape and has been tested with NovaStor's NovaBack 2.xx for OS/2 2.x/3.x This driver will not currently allow you to boot to DOS with ASPI loading and then loading OS/2. This driver will also NOT currently allow you to utilize OS2ASPI.DMD under the OS/2 environment. This will be fixed in a future revision of the driver. Some SCSI devices can cause system failures when initiating synchronous data transfers. Setting the device to "async" or "sync initiated by host" will usually resolve this problem. This version has full support for CD Audio. UPDATING A PREVIOUS OS/2 INSTALLATION: ************************************* Go to the SYSTEM SETUP folder which is located in the OS/2 SYSTEM folder. Double-click on the DEVICE DRIVER INSTALL icon. You will be shown two options, one for source and one for target. Change the SOURCE option to point to the directory you had decompressed this archive into. After you do this, then click on the OK button and a product information screen will be displayed. Double-click the appropriate product, and the necessary drivers will be copied to their respective places, and your CONFIG.SYS will be modified. After all this, all that is required is that you shutdown and reboot your machine. If you plan on (or are) using SCSI devices which are NOT CDROMs or hard drives, you must install the OS/2 SCSI support. To do this, you need to use the SELECTIVE INSTALL utility program in the SYSTEM SETUP folder. Select OTHER for SCSI card and the necessary drivers will be installed. MAKE SURE that OS2ASPI.DMD is NOT added to your CONFIG.SYS. This is a problem with our current OS/2 driver and should be rectified in a future version. If you plan on using CDROM devices, you must install the OS/2 CDROM device support. To do this, you must use the SELECTIVE INSTALL utility program in the SYSTEM SETUP folder. Select OTHER for CDROM device type and your system will be modified accourdingly. MAKE SURE that no *.FLT drivers are added to your CONFIG.SYS relating to CDROM drives. These are no longer necessary and will cause our driver to lockup during boot-up. This package includes an example CONFIG.OS2 which shows the proper way to use our drivers under OS/2.
