Help for ProNews/2 Menu ═══ The functions which may be performed are: Go Online Go into online mode. Go Offline Go into offline mode. New Connection Create a new connection of the specified type. Print Setup Invoke the print setup dialog. Settings Invoke the ProNews/2 settings dialog. The ProNews/2 menu also contains an Exit item which ends the application when selected. ═══ 1.2.1. Help for Go Online ═══ Put ProNews/2 into online mode. Online mode lets ProNews/2 assume that it is connected to the internet and can communicate with the configured news server. All queued operations will start. ═══ 1.2.2. Help for Go offline ═══ Put ProNews/2 into offline mode. Offline mode allows you to use ProNews/2 without a server connection. This is useful if you have downloaded articles and would like to read them when you're not connected to the internet. All further attempted operations will be queued. ═══ 1.2.3. Help for New Connection Menu ═══ This is a submenu that displays all of the available choices for creating a new connection. Help for New Article Connection ═══ This adds another article connection thread to ProNews/2, allowing you to override the program's settings for the maximum number of allowed connections. ═══ 1.2.3.2. Help for New Binary Connection ═══ This adds another binary connection thread to ProNews/2, allowing you to override the program's settings for the maximum number of allowed connections. ═══ 1.2.3.3. Help for Group Menu ═══ The primary use of the group menu is to get a list of available newsgroups from the news server. Here are a list of options that are located in the group menu: Reload groups Reload newsgroups Refresh groups Refresh newsgroups ═══ 1.3.1. Help for Reload groups ═══ Use this menu option to reload all of the newsgroups from the news server. ═══ 1.3.2. Help for Refresh groups ═══ Use this menu option to connect to the server and syncronize the list of groups on the server with the list of groups that are stored locally in ProNews. ═══ 1.4. Help for Display Menu ═══ The primary use of the group menu is to get a list of available newsgroups from the news server. Help for Display All Groups ═══ This menu item switches to the All Groups tab in the control panel. From here you can see the entire list of groups on your news server and subscribe to those you wish to follow. Information about the All Groups window. ═══ 1.4.2. Help for Display Subscribed Groups ═══ This menu item switches to the Subscriptions tab in the control panel. Help for Unsubscribe ═══ This menu option will allow you to unsubscribe to the currently selected groups. Help for Retrieve all bodies ═══ This menu item will attempt to retrieve all article bodies for the currently selected groups. It will not retrive bodies that have already been downloaded. It is available in The Subscriptions Window. ═══ 1.7.3. Help for Retrieve new headers ═══ This menu item will retrieve all new headers from the selected groups which have become availible since the last time the group was updated. It is available in The Subscriptions Window. ═══ 1.7.4. Help for Delete all Bodies ═══ This menu item will delete all of the bodies for the selected groups. You will be prompted for confirmation before the delete operation takes place. It is available in The Subscriptions Window. ═══ 1.7.5. Help for Delete all Headers ═══ The menu item will delete all of the headers from the selected groups. You will be prompted for confirmation before the delete operation takes place. It is available in the The All Groups Window and in The New Groups Window. ═══ 1.7.9. Help for Move Menu ═══ The primary use of the Move Menu is to control the priority of items in the Queue. Move Up Move Down Move to Top Queue to Bottom ═══ 1.7.9.1. Help for Move Up ═══ This menu item will move the currently selected items up by one place in the queue. ═══ 1.7.9.2. Help for Move Down ═══ This menu item will move the currently selected items down by one place in the queue. ═══ 1.7.9.3. Detailed help for the Control Panel ═══ The Control Panel is the nerve center for ProNews/2. From it's various tabbed windows, are given complete control over the program. Help for Toolbar Style Dialog ═══ Configure the toolbar's style. Show bubble help Use the check box to toggle the state of displaying the help bubble over the button. Delay If bubble help is enabled, specify the amount of time that the pointer needs to rest over the button before the help is displayed. Read If bubble help is enabled, specify the amount of time that the bubble help window is to be displayed. Show bubble text Use the check box to toggle the state of displaying the help text on the buttons. Frame the items Use the check box to toggle the state of drawing a 3D frame around the buttons. Autosize If this check box is selected, the bitmaps on the toolbar are displayed in the resolution in which they were created in, otherwise use the Width and Height entry fields to specify a user defined resolution. Lost lines and columns Use the radio buttons to specify an action if lines or columns are lost. ═══ 1.10.
