Help - Certificate Creation

If your Server times out your Browser request:

You will need to modify your TimeoutScript setting within the Limits page for your HTTP service, using a setting of at least 600 seconds, depending on the speed of your CPU and the reliability of your Internet connection.

Online vs Offline Requests:

If you are connected to the Internet, you can submit an Online Request to a Certification Authority. This will be done automatically on your behalf, and the returned signed certificate will be automatically installed onto your server. Please be patient while your computer generates your keys locally and then waits for a reply from the Certification Authority.

If you are not currently connected to the Internet, you will need to submit an Offline Request. This involves you generating your private keys locally now, then submitting your encoded certificate request to our site from an Internet-connected browser, and finally importing the returned signed certificate into your server.

You will also need to use the Offline Request mode if you want to submit a Certificate Request to a non-CompuSource Certification Authority to sign your server certificate.

VeriSign Certificates:

PowerWeb can use VeriSign server certificates.

Choose the "Offline Request" button and submit the resulting encoded request to VeriSign.

When you obtain your server certificate from Verisign, use the import option of the Certificate Manager to load the new certificate, using the filename "LICENSE".
