Giger had discovered that Pyramid Snowboards had begun manufacturing and selling
snowboards bearing Giger's work of art entitled "The Spell I", without Giger's knowledge,
permission or consent.
Fortunately, before a significant number of the infringing snowboards had been sold,
Giger discovered the infringement, commenced a lawsuit in the United States District Court,
and immediately obtained a court order enjoining Pyramid from producing or selling anymore of
the infringing boards.
The settlement of the lawsuit included monies paid to Giger, plus a permanent injunction
prohibiting Pyramid from manufacturing or selling any snowboards with Giger's art.
