Glycolic Acid Chemical Peels

GLYCOLIC ACID 30% PEEL
GLYCOLIC ACID 10% with MOISTURIZER

Glycolic Acid is a light, safe chemical peel. It is a fruit acid derived from the stalk of sugar cane, and two decades of research by Drs. Van Scott and Yu has shown that it facilitates the shedding of compacted dead skin. All fruit acids are naturally occurring substances found in various fruits such as citric acid (citrus fruit), lactic acid (sour milk), malic acid (apples), and tartaric acid (wine). Glycolic Acid appears to be the most adaptable for cosmetic use because of its small molecular size.

Benefits
Glycolic Acid reduces fine lines and wrinkles, combats dry skin, smooths rough texture, lightens dark spots, softens skin and boosts your home care program.

How It Is Done
The 30% Glycolic solution used for this treatment is applied to the cleansed face with a cotton swab for 2-10 minutes, the duration depending on skin thickness, age, sensitivity and use of exfoliating products during home care. The acid is then removed with a wet towel or sponge. Treatment is recommended for the face every 2-4 weeks. The hands may also be done.

Side Effects
Most patients suffer no adverse side effects whatsoever. Sensitivities vary and side effects range from mild stinging, mild swelling-to slight redness-to mild scabbing and peeling-all of which are temporary, lasting a few days at most. These temporary side effects are relieved by avoiding scrubs and or topical medications for a few days, icing the face or applying polysporin ointment or H1% cream prescribed by the doctor.

GLYCOLIC-ACID 10% with Moisturizer
10% Glycolic Acid may be used as an adjunct to Glycolic Acid 30% peels or alone as a home treatment.
