The Tunic, revisited
Part of old fashion lore is the tale of the tunic. Back in the 1960's when pants were
not generally accepted, a woman entering a fashionable restaurant one evening was told she
couldn't wear pants. She went to the ladies room, slipped out of her pants and was
permitted to come in wearing her tunic top. Minis si, trousers, no.
Well, the tunic is back. It's long and lean, covers the hips. But now it is pulled
over skinny pants. (See lead story). Or it's worn with a long, skinny skirt. It can also be
accompanied by a skinny jacket.
If you want to, of course, you could wear a mini, but the long pants are newer. Sic
transit gloria fashion.
