Welcome to the Virtual Rave Chat Page!

Vrave is an online forum for ravers that can be accessed through telnetting to hyperreal.com 7283. (If you look on the keypad on a phone, 7283 spells "rave.") People telnet throughout the world and talk about parties, music, and just about anything else you can think of.

Vrave has been around since November 1992, where the site has moved three times since then. For old school vravers, remember haas.berkeley.edu and soda.berkeley.edu? Vrave has gone thorough a lot of modifications through the help of Brian Behlendorf, Craig Kanarick, Kurt Vile, and Laura La Gassa.

To find out more infomation about vrave, check out the Vrave FAQ.

As the number of users grew on vrave, so did the addicts. This lead to various designs of flyers and art. There was also a creation of vrave addict badges made by Joe Pitassi.

Also people tried to break the vrave addiction. Greg T Samson (uwiz) decided to not go on vrave anymore. But he missed all the people on it. Instead of writing each person individually, he created the v-rave list. In order to subscribe to the list, mail v-rave-request@gnu.ai.mit.edu. There people discuss many things that are going on in their lives, or frustrated because they can't connect to vrave. :)

Time when on, and a lot more people got on the new people on the net, people from the vrave list created a vrave etiquette guide to help maintain the PLUR on vrave.

The people on vrave consider themselves as a family. Anyone can join this family by entering vrave. Some of the vravers chose to introduce themselves (and to be recognized) by others on-line.

The following list are subcategorized list of logins, not handles, of people who are on vrave. There are a lot more people (vrave has 900 users!) than this, but not everyone has a picture, statements, or a home page.
