IC-434 The 'Horse Head' Nebula. in Orion. A large emission nebula 60'x10' It is the best example of a dark nebula. The radiation from the star Eta Orionis is providing the background light. Telescopes of over 40 inches have difficulty seeing this object, but is easily captured on film or CCD imaging. Imaged with a ST-6 CCD camera, Tri-colour RGB 8-12-24 minutes.
