═══ 1. Kuvert/2 ═══ Kuvert/2 is an easy-to-use program to manage addresses and to print address labels and envelopes. You create an address file which is a text file and you can print envelopes and labels in any size. If you have a modem connected to your computer you can let Kuvert/2 dial the telephone number associated with an address. It is also possible to automatically add an entry to a report file when you print envelopes or tagged address labels. These entries consist of date, time form name and address. The report file can be used for your postal expenses references. Return address and address can be formatted using easy to remember formatting characters. Most OS/2 printer driver only support a few standard envelope forms. Please refer to your OS/2 manual to obtain information on how to define new forms for your printer. Kuvert/2 is especially useful when your printer has an automatic envelope feed. When you define new forms you must not forget to assign them to a corresponding paper source. To define new forms you have to view the settings notebook of a printer object on your workplace. Then you open the printer driver section and double-click on the required printer driver icon. A Kuvert/2 address file contains one return address and any number of addresses. You can use the file KUVERT.DAT as a template for your own address files. The return address consists of max. 8 lines and the address of max. 11 lines. A line can contain up to 256 characters. The first character in a line can be a formatting character. The following formatting characters are available for return addresses. \b ... the following text is bold \c ... the following text is centered \a ... the following text is both bold and centered The rest of the address file contains the addresses. The first line of an address starts with the character $. The text on the line that follows this sign is not printed but it is displayed in the address list. You can also enter various information here like opening hours and the telephone number (in square brackets e.g. [123-4567]). If Kuvert/2 runs on your computer a single keystroke lets you find an address, dial the associated telephone number and print an envelope. It is recommended to write the surname of the address first to make finding an address easier when the names are alphabetically sorted. Just type the first character of the required surname and Kuvert/2 selects the first correpsonding entry. The lines follwing the return address contain the addresses. The following formatting characters are available for addresses: \b ... the following text is bold \u ... the following text is underlined \r ... the following text is aligned to the right border of the address Related information Button bar Information window Copyright notice ═══ 2.
