You need to do some work back in the gardens.

The mural.  What is the mural made of?

Bronze, a rod of bronze a bronze mural.  Worth a try, huh?

Strike, and point the rod of bronze at the mural to open a passage.

If you go south from the jagged passage.  You find a room with a smell.
The room name is the Catacombs. There is only a small reference in the
text about the smell, so look curses
carefully.
