================================================================ Title : Houses 1.3 Filename : HOUSES13.WAD Author : Michael Lundy. Email Address : Okay, so I don't quite have one Misc. Author Info : First person ever who knew how to align textures in Deathmatch levels. I am the author of many other cool WADs, from deathmatch to texture additions. My favorite deathmatch level I made is DETHPOND. It's in this WAD, so check it out. Description : 15 deathmatch levels. The first 9 are house the last two are ones I wrote. Lots of rearranging and fixing since last version. This whole thing is 2.5 megabytes big when unzipped. This kicks all DOOM II deathmatch levels combined. Except maybe anything The Innocent Crew might have made. Installation : There are two external demos; one for 1.666 and ond for 1.9. Use one of the two batch files to merge the demos with DEUSF (included) and the Houses 1.3 WAD together. Songs Used : Okay, here goes... MAP01 - Head Like a Hole, Nine Inch Nails MAP02 - Iron Man, Black Sabbath MAP03 - Smoke on the Water, Deep Purple MAP04 - Verse Chorus Verse, Nirvana MAP05 - ????, Nine Inch Nails MAP06 - Smells Like Teen Spirit, Nirvana MAP07 - Backwater, Meat Puppets MAP08 - When the Levee Breaks, Led Zeppelin MAP09 - Phantom of the Opera, ???? MAP10 - Come Out And Play, Offspring MAP11 - Mother, Danzig MAP12 - Lithuim, Nirvana MAP13 - Coming Clean, Green Day MAP14 - About a Girl, Nirvana MAP15 - Wherever I May Roam, Metallica Additional Credits to : MYHOUSE.WAD the authors of TNPLHOME.WAD BLOTWALZ.WAD (by Tom Walz) PPALACE.WAD PUEBLO.WAD TOWNHOUS.WAD Mansion (KR-3.WAD) MUD3.WAD (I think this maybe be one of those Mud levels that the DOOM champion contests keep talking about.) HOUSE.WAD (If you think this sucks, you should check out the original.) AYRTON_2.WAD RAVEN1.WAD THEFRAY.WAD CRINGE.WAD (I'm only using your pistol sound now.) VAMUS1.WAD Butt-head for DOOM (Push a wall and find out.) TRINITY2.WAD MEGADETH.WAD MASSACRE.WAD ZWIEBACK.WAD MKFRGTME.WAD SPECS.WAD. This sort of makes you looks like you belong in Rollins' Band. All the editors I used. KEWLIO.WAD. I've seen his line of work, and here is what he needs to do to make it better: Better sounds (You're halfway there because of that Butt-Head pushing a wall sounds that is also in Houses.) Windows. Every d'match level is no good without sniping points. And wait for a good d'match idea to form in your head. That's how I made DETHPOND. It's really cool. Now, for more of the list... A41_MUS.WAD. This was a big help. Thanks! OBITUARY. Excellent episode. I used your wall patches. I hope that's okay because they're cool. STA_ROSA.WAD Myself, for the last two levels, intro screen, status bar, and for making this whole thing happen. ...And anything else I left out. * * * R E A D T H I S : Every single level has an exit, if you didn't know. I put exits on levels that didn't have exits. Read this if you can't find the exits. These may not be exactly accurate. Level 1: Walk through the front door. Behind the bar is the head. Shoot it until you hear explosions. Level 2: The head is on the TV table. Level 4: Go to the staircase inside. Walk down until you teleport and go back up without teleporting. You should find the exit switch in front of a Mega- sphere. Level 5: The head is on the southwest side of the house. Level 6: In the garage, there is a John Romero head. kill it to go to the next level. Level 10: Get outside and go to the room west of the column supported lights. Open the door in the room. Kill all the monsters and the Romero heads to end the level. All the other levels should have an easy exit to find. ================================================================ * Play Information * Episode and Level # : MAP01 through MAP15 Single Player : Yes. Some levels are self-playable. Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes, just get DEU and ADE2 to stop questioning me on that. Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Well, that was what this WAD was for, right? Difficulty Settings : Some of these levels may have them. New Sounds : A fraction of a megabyte of sounds. New Graphics : Yes, I made some myself. Plus, there are wall patches. New Music : Yes. See the section SONGS USED. There's a list of songs used Demos Replaced : Yes. In this version, I included 1.666 and 1.9 demos, thanks to LMPUTIL. * Construction * Base : Extremely modified levels. You will really like the change from the original. Build Time : Uhh... a month? Editor(s) used : DEUTEX 3.4, ADE2, ENDOOMER 1.0.1, LMPUTIL, DMAPEDIT 4.0 beta 10 Known Bugs : Now everything has a perfect node structure, but for some resaon, if you record a demo on level 10, it screws up and shows you shooting aimlessly at walls. * Copyright / Permissions * Authors MAY use this level as a base to build additional levels as long as you credit me in your work. Distrubute this freely; it's freeware. * Where to get this WAD * FTP sites: ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/idgames/newstuff/houses13.wad As soon as the gorilla jumps over the moon, look for this in: ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/idgames/levels/doom2/deathmatch/houses13.zip BBS numbers: none. Other: It would suck to upload to Delphi. One Last Note : This is to the cdrom.com operators. To save space on that system, you can get rid of previous version of HOUSES, wherever you put them.
