Thank you for downloading DataBox from SimpleWebFX.

DataBox provides HTML web page publication from a third party database via an ASCII export file.

Alternatively, a database can be created and managed within DataBox itself - you do not
need a third party database application.

DataBox can process upto 20,000 records per database, each with 20 fields, 4 images and a free-format scroll field
of 5,000 characters and includes a unique DataBox search engine feature providing on-line searching for your visitors.
Clickable links for site visiting, file uploads, file downloads and e-mail are also included.

DataBox is *** shareware *** and so FREE to download and trial with no time limit.
The word "(Unreg.)" will be placed randomly in published results until registered.


INSTALLATION
============

If you have run the download file "databox.exe", or "databox20.exe"
a number of InstallShield files will have been extracted.

Simply run the "setup.exe" program from the directory where they
were extracted and follow the on-screen instructions.

Windows 95,98,NT or 2000.
Minimum 8MB RAM, 2MB disk space
No special requirements.
You must have access to a browser for viewing pubilshed results.

v2.02   patch for Search engine where field number 1 would always have to be specified.
v2.03   Improved import Wizard. 20,000 record support. Faster publishing. Custom HTML
        for all published pages. Search engines per Category, custom table and column widths.
v2.04   Import Wizard allows Append option. Fixed first search when >1 word involved.
v2.1    Improved Import Wizard for Import->DataBox field mapping.
        Improved web-search on published results (first searches).
        Fix for .jpg image files corrupted on FTP upload.
        Full colour swatch implemented for publishing colours.

v2.11   Problem fixed with auto-republisher, After exiting DataBox, all records
        are published on the first publish on entering DataBox instead of only those that have
        changed (+14 files that are always republished)
v2.12   Improved auto-publisher when appending to an unsorted category to minimise
        un-necessary publishing.
v2.3    Add ODBC support and Charting Module.
v2.31   Remove Charting module - class error on some machines.
        Add Rename option for Catgories
v2.32   Automatically size windows for different font sizes & resolutions
        Allow custom resizing of some windows saved on Exit and set on reload.
        Re-introduce the Charting Module.
v2.33   Stop filled fields overwriting the next on Import and double each field
        size (data not label) from 150 characters to 300 characters for the 5,000 and
        20,000 record versions.
v2.4    Verza Shopping Cart system added for Detail, QuickView and Search results
        pages. 4.9%->6.9% commission, no startup or monthly fees.
