Adding a new filter

The New Filter window allows you to add the name of a web site from which you wish to accept or reject cookies unconditionally. You can type the domain name or IP address of the web site into the edit box, and click OK to add it to your accept or reject lists.

You can enter a domain name such as www.abc.com, or an IP address such as 200.200.200.200.

Using wildcards

You can use wildcards (the asterisk (*) character) in the web site name, or IP address.

When entering a server name, the wildcard must be the first character entered, and there can only be two additional parts to the server name (separated by dots). For example you can enter *.abc.com, but not *.abc.def.com or www.abc.*.

When entering an IP address, the wildcard must be the last character, replacing the last number in the address. For example 200.200.200.* is OK, but *.200.200.200 is not.

Using a wildcard in a filter will cause a group of web sites to match the filter. For example the filter *.abc.com will match www.abc.com, www2.abc.com and www.info.abc.com.
