Paradise will be following Inferno with Overload, another title in the Paradise Budget Range for Acorn RiscOS machines.
Featuring the astronaut seen below, Overload is a fast, action packed sideways scolling shoot-em-up complete with powerful weapons, power-ups, visual effects galore, swarms of oncoming alien beings, and plenty of hectic trigger-happy action.
Over 16 scrolling levels, a race of peaceful creatures must be saved from the invading aliens, and the evil alien bosses must be destroyed! There are also a number of bonus levels and more!
Story
Whilst travelling to a distant galaxy, you recieve a distress message
from a small cluster of planets orbiting around a bright sun.
There must be intelligent life in this system!
The message does not explain what is happening on these planets, but
the creatures who sent it are pleading to be rescued!
Quick! Take the explorer craft, and get down there!
Overload takes the player across a number of worlds, each split into four different areas.
In each area a different mission must be completed:
- Rescue Mission
On the first mission of a world, you must collect
helpless inhabitants whilst avoiding the swarms of invading aliens!
Take all the inhabitants back to the safety of your spaceship.
- Battle Mission
Rescuing the inhabitants draws the attention of the guardian aliens
of the world. You must defeat these guardians before progressing!
- Attack Mission
Finally, you must regain control of the world by destroying every
last one of the invading aliens! Use any method at your disposal!
- Discovery Mission
With all of the invaders safely out of the way, you have a small
amount of time to collect some valuable items for your journey.
Stock up on points and replenish your energy supplies, but avoid
the harmful asteroids!
Overload is compatible with all Acorn machines & ARM processors (it is StrongARM Native, and will run without any patches or fixes). The game requires RiscOS 3.1 and 2Mb Memory minimum on all systems.
Overload is currently in development, but should be released soon!
On release, Overload will cost £12.99.
