TEK diary, Jan 98, Feb 98
- 22.2.98: Florian complains that Jan mentions himself so much in this diary.
- 20.2.98: Jan is doing TEK stuff again and is very proud of a little arrow following the mouse click on a black screen.
- 17.2.98: Interesting news from Acorn.
- 7.2.98: Jan neglects the TEK engine and starts some polishing of the ANKH program. However Dominik is still working hard.
- 7.2.98: What a tiny little thing, the Southwest Show! Anyway, we had fun, talking to many interesting people and demonstrating the TEK engine (along with the ANKH engine).
- 6.2.98: Trip to England, visiting the Southwest Show.
- 5.2.98: Eva, Jan, Ralph and Alexander start cutting the film.
- 30.1.98: Film sessions for the trailer.
- 27.1.98: Re-structuring the TEK code. Thinking about optimizations.
- 26.1.98: We're testing realtime strategy game ' Z ' on a Playstation and decide that it is extremely boring. Dominik enters the office with a gun (for the film), almost shooting Jan, and nobody can hear anything for at least 30 seconds. And this man claims he's a pacifist.
- 21.1.98: Stunt co-ordinator Andy does some dangerous acrobatic things in a narrow tunnel.
- 20.1.98: Florian proposes to include "zombie" facilities for soldier units. Zombies. In a science fiction game. Think about this.
- 19.1.98: We've had plenty of further meetings (and many arguments, quarrels and fights) about the code and special features. We have some really nice ideas.
- 15.1.98: Many meetings about what to change in the source code
- 12.1.98: Jan and Florian waste the whole day playing Tomb Raider II.
- 10.1.98: First engine demo compiled! Florian nearly got another headache due to circumstances mentioned earlier
- 7.1.98: Florian has got a headache because he jumped through the office (after watching the resolution-switching working) and hit a door frame. Small camera windows are now tracking/guarding any unit, and we're all quite happy and it's quite late in the night
- 6.1.98: We're pulling our hair out because our graphicians didn't manage to deliver anything in time. The demo should be sent to Acorn yesterday. Jan is very angry that he has to remove the menu bar because of a nasty hardcore bug he could not find after 2 days of debugging
- 5.1.98: Dominik keeps telling again and again how fast his computer is and how beautifully evereything looks on his brand new 17" monitor
- 4.1.98: Jan is very proud of his self-made POVray-traced little chopper that's now moving around the map, and he spends the whole day maneouvring it across one tiny little screen. Florian keeps creating a huge map for the demo level and curses the programmers for giving him the user-unfriendliest tools he can imagine
- 3.1.98: Jan is eagerly awaiting the start of the cut-scene production and has started negotiations with a film team
- 1.1.98: Dominik spends all the day debugging the engine.
