Statistical data analysis and display routinely requires large numbers of repetitive calculations. Properly programmed computers excel at this type of task. Mainframe machines were once required, but with 1st, impressive statistical power in a user friendly environment is available to the data analyst or statistician who lacks access to large machines. Acorn RISC OS computers running any of the 1st family of statistical packages can help you like no other.

An A5 Manual provides information on the Wimp interface and includes a "tutorial". An "on-line", Context sensitive Manual in a resizable window gives instant technical information.

1st Junior

Designed for A-level standard

1st Junior is designed to make many important statistical techniques readily available to those who are not fully familiar with statistical methods. It provides a comfortable working environment that includes extensive data manipulation facilities.

1st Junior is effectively a subset of the 1st system.

Data handling capacity is up to 40 columns and up to 400 rows.

The current price of 1stJr is £105 for a single use licence (subject to change). (Educational price is £84)

1st Elementary

Ideal for pre-A-level students

1st Elementary is a subset of the 1st Junior system.

1st Elementary costs £70 for a single use licence (subject to change). The Educational discount price is £50, and a School Site licence is available for £150.

We supply here a wide variety of data files for use with 1st, both CSV files and 1st's own data files. A README file includes details of all the files. Note: Whilst you can enter your own data into these demos, you cannot save it out again.

We also include an abbreviated copy of our !Manual application. For a brief introduction to 1st (which will help you use the demos), turn it to page 610.

As with all archives supplied, this one can be expanded with Arcfs or SparkPlug (or variants).
