The Artworks video tutorial is a new venture by Pineapple. As far as we are aware this is the first attempt by anyone in the Acorn market to produce this type of video.
We believe that we have found the perfect tutor in Walter Briggs who was the first ever winner of the Computer Concepts Artworks competition with his superb picture of a Kingfisher. Walter later went on to start his own computer graphics company called Kingfisher Graphics and he is responsible for many Acorn magazine covers and a regular series of articles in Acorn Publisher Magazine.
The one hour video covers all aspects of using Artworks. The first part of the video covers all the various tools and menu functions with clear descriptive explanations, all with a continuous screen display showing exactly how the various tools are used.
Following this, Walter goes on to show how to produce one of his most powerful images, the Tiger head. This impressive picture can actually be produced quite simply and Walter shows us how.
Next, Walter goes on to show us how to draw a simple but impressive landscape picture. The freehand techniques used to produce this can be copied quite easily by those of us who have no artistic talent at all!
This video is an ideal teaching aid and is the perfect answer for those who have problems understanding handbooks!
Currently available only in British VHS format, the video was produced using our PAL AVK/3 video coder and an Acorn RiscPC.
