Genesis for Windows

Genesis for WindowsTM is an interactive multimedia authoring package designed specifically for use within schools by both children and teachers. Working on any 486 or above IBM compatible PC with Windows 3.1 or later or Windows 95, Genesis provides a framework for children to create pages of information combining many different media; text, bitmaps, draw files, Ace films, Midi music and sound samples. The information is placed inside frames which are created on the pages. These frames are very similar to frames in a DTP package. The frames can be scaled and positioned anywhere on the page. Text can be typed directly into the frames. Other types of data are loaded from disc.

Once your pages are created, they can be linked together in the most natural way for the information you have produced. For example, a map of Europe on one page can have links to pages about the different countries. Each country page can have further links to pages about major cities and so on. To follow a link, you simply click with the mouse over the country, city etc of interest.

Genesis for Windows has been designed to be file compatible with Genesis for the Archimedes. Many existing Archimedes applications will run under Genesis for Windows.
