A context menu appears when you right-click on a port window (for example, COM1). This menu lists commands that you can apply to the selected port window.
You can select one of the following options from the context menu:
Toolbar - Activates/deactivates the toolbar section of the main frame. The toolbar provides shortcuts to frequently used commands.
Status Bar - Activates/deactivates the status bar of the main frame. The status bar displays the current status for a port at the bottom of a Port (for example, COM1) window.
Loopback - Activates/deactivates internal loopback. If you are testing the serial port, place a loopback plug on the port you are testing.
Open / Close - Opens/closes the port in the selected port window. The port window remains open.
RTS - Activates/deactivates Request To Send (RTS).
DTR - Activates/deactivates Data Terminal Ready (DTR).
Send - Starts/stops sending test data.
Receive - Starts/stops receiving test data.
Clear Screen - Clears the contents from the current window.
Change View - Switches from one view to another for a selected window.
Port Settings - Changes the standard COM port settings of one or all ports.
Close - Closes the active port and the port window.
