1. Memory protection uses hardley any processor time. Try Linux/68k. In
many cases it's *faster* than AmigaOS. Quite a few people mentioned
Windows which has a very poor MP implementation.

2. Its *impossible* to fully test the code for a reasonable sized program.
You never know what users are going to do with your programs.

Memory protection is essential on a modern OS.
