Subject:	PPaint gradients

Hi there,

I found something strange in that PPaint can create really nice smooth
colour gradients but when you try and save them they come out distinctly
banded. I've tried ILBM, GIF, PNG etc, all the same.

Further weirdness is that a screen grab of the PPaint screen gives the same
effect- I thought I could get round it that way...

This is on a graphics card, BVision, with CGX 4.2 pre7, for the record.

Can anyone solve this, and if not, could they direct me to a package or
utility that can output smooth gradients on RTG- no freaky copper stuff,
just a bitmap.
