My "stub" exceeds this by a margin. I won't boast, but unbiased observers
have put it at about a foot or more in length.

Am I on borrowed time? How could I test my drives- give me some heavy tests
to do and I'll see if I get any errors, but as I said, there have been
none. I use decent cabling. I have Opus so I could try doing a few
simultanous copies of some big archives from the HD to the Zip maybe?
You have worried me now saying that it is against the SCSI standard :(
