Well how about that? You learn something every day - I've only been looking
at that message every day for 10 months ;^)

In an earlier post I complained that my modem was taking an age to detect
the busy condition. I found out completely by accident the other day that
pressing space in the dialler window provokes the "no carrier" message
immediately. I can now do quick-fire redials and get connected within 5
minutes, rather than 30!
