This is true with three or more computers, since a cable break only
takes out one machine. But with two machines, a hub system has more
components to break (i.e. the hub)and any breakage will take down the
whole network anyway.

However, 10basT is still the best way to go, the cables are easier to
route that the coax needed by 10base2.

I needed a hub in a hurry last month, so no time to shop around for a
good deal. I rang my local PC shop and they had a 9 port hub (8 RJ45 +
1 BNC) for £30 . They aren't a particularly cheap shop normally, so this
price is probably easily beaten.
