This is a long shot, but make sure you have only 1 BVisionPPC monitor
file in devs:monitors. At one stage I made the mistake of temporarily
renaming a monitor file there while trying another version. I forgot
that the system starts -all- the monitor files in devs:monitors,
regardless of their names. When I had 2 CVisionPPC monitor files
there (with different names), the system came up, but then all kinds
of cgx things didn't work. Instead I should have temporarily moved
the monitor file I didn't want to sys:storage/monitors.
