There is GL_LINEAR filtering. But it doesn't matter - I use the same
source for MGL and Mesa. I've just added some '#ifdef __USE_GLUT__' around
MGL calls and compiled it with and without -D__USE_GLUT__.

I'll check if there is also a difference in linear mapping and in other
filtering modes.
