I wouldn't want to compare Alien Nations to Napalm. There is a huge flaw
in the way Napalm does it's screen updates. Rather than just drawing
objects that move and new terrain uncovered when scrolling, it draws the
entire screen every frame. That means all the background, all the
sprites effects get redrawn every frame. It's not a very good way of
doing things, certainly not the way other Command & Conqure style games
work.
