I've had a few GT related problems in the past. Most
of them were down to VisualPrefs, and getting rid of
that was a help.
Lots of them though were like your problem.
It seemed to fix things when I used the GTdetach
command before freeing a GT list.
Have you given that a go? Just a thought.
