Hmm! Sounds like something wrote over the bootblock/bitmap.
Do you have a HD larger than 4 gig? Do you have you cache/temp/download
stuff on your last partition?
If you do, you most likely have the probb I HAD.
Use HDToolBox (or CyberSCSI if you use a Blizzard scsi card)
choose to update/change the filesystem.
Select L:FastFileSystem
The click save/change. that's it.
Oh, and check that you actually use FFS, and not PFS/AFS/SFS etc.
Once I did this all worked fine.
