Create a small (40Meg) partition & call it "Cache"
Make 3 directories in there:- "IB2" "AWEB" "VOY"

Point your respective browse caches in there....

Then if it crashes & invalidates cache: you only have
to reformat it & you won't loose anything...

Besides that, it reduces the disk fragmentation you will
get by writing & deleting a lot of cache files.

This will alleviate the drama's, but you should find out
what wonky bit of software you have running that is
making your system unstable.

Try running segtracker & enforcer during a session or 2
(/or segtracker & cyberguard if you have a P5 board,)/
& see what task is clobbering the system.
