| Subject: | Kickstart for A3000 |
I recently bought the first A3000 I've ever had. I'm getting it ready for OS
3.5/3.1. While replacing the furry battery I noticed a jumper on the mother
board, and a reference in the manual that claims you can use A2000/A500
Kickstart chips in the A3000 by setting that jumper.
Has anybody ever done that? Does it affect functionality? If not, why even
make a different 2 chip version for the A3000? I'll take changing one chip
instead of two any day. Or is this only on a small number of systems?
