Subject:text.datatype

Hi,

I recently asked about the text.datatype 44.x that is on Aminet. Well, I
broke down tonight and installed it (v44.2), and of course backed up the
v44.10 from BoingBag1 in case I need it later. So far I can tell you it
seems ok and I have the ability now to mark and copy text in multiview. That
is I can mark text in plain text files (readme, doc, txt, etc) but not
amigaguide files. This will come in handy a LOT for me as I use multiview
quite often for reading text files.

What I would like to suggest (if it hasn't already been suggested) is that
the ability to mark text and thus copy it to the clipboard for pasting
elsewhere be added to the official O@3.5 text.datatype and other datatypes
dealing with text like amigaguide.datatype. I really do not know how this new
Aminet datatype compares to the OS3.5 datatype for other features/bugs. All
it saysis is tries to be fully compatible to the old datatype but does not
refer to which text.datatype it goes for compatibility with (OS3.1 vs OS3.5
for instance though it does use v44 which is an OS3.5 version convention).

I'm patiently waiting for BoingBag2 hoping this is included already:-)
