Subject:Re: NullModem Crashes Miami

I'll admit I don't know a lot about networking Amigas, but as far as I know
a "nullmodem" refers to a particular type of serial cable or adapter
designed to allow two computers to exchange information over a serial
connection. I can provide a pinout diagram to anyone interested. It does
not involve a normal modem or phone cable. However, your question implies
there may be a better way to connect my Amiga to the Win98 machine. I've
heard of networks based off of the Amiga's disk drive port or Ethernet cards
of various sorts, but I don't have any of those. Besides the serial port
can communicate much faster than the internal modem on the Win98 machine, so
I really don't need anything else.

In fact I'm very happy with my connection between the Win98 machine and the
Amiga. What I would like to do is make my PPP connection with my Win98
machine and then allow my Amiga4000 to browse the internet via a serial link
to the Win98 machine (i.e. nullmodem). I believe the Amiga web site
mentions this as a capability of the software.

Has anyone had success with the nullmodem function(s) of Miami?

Sorry for the second post, thought the clarifications might be helpful.
