I just bought a 20Gb Western Digital Caviar HD (£106) and had it up and
running, from the Emergency Disk and the OS3.5 CD, after my old drive (3
years) packed in.
I was surprised as it only took about ten minutes to partition, format
it with FS45.1, and install 3.1 and then 3.5 then boing bag 1. I must say
it took me about a week or more to get the Emergency disk up and running in
the first place. I have a 4 way buffered IDE interface, which was the
problem. The setting up with 3.5 CD just wouldn't work.
BTW is boing bag 2 out yet, I've got behind with email with my system
being down, until I could afford a new drive.
