Oops.

1. The amiga's serial port is is really pretty standard (at least no
_real_ concerns)
2. There is a big difference between a null modem and a standard (ie
straight through) serial cable.

If you've connected two systems together with a straight through cable,
you _may_ have fried something (it's one of the few things I've never done
so I'm not exactly sure).

Does the serial port work otherwise? (ie modem, pc mouse, anything... ?)

A null modem cable should do the trick (don't see why not, but that's
ignorance for ya) For pinouts, off the top of my head, TwinExpress from
aminet has all null modem pinouts in the archive. (and the amiga and pc
have the same pinouts, just different connectors in some cases.)

It may be that the software uses a different type of cable.

Why was this posted to a 3.5 mailing list? It is not related...
