It's easy to write Amos Programs which run on all Amigas with a bit of care
(there's a bug with Amos's sample playing routines which is probably
responsible in itself for the crashing of 50% of Amos programs. I'd imagine
;) ).

I haven't used Amos in a loooong time but all the Amos programs I wrote
years ago run just fine on UAE and my A4000T. The only thing is that
graphics cards aren't supported (although that's of no consequence for UAE
and for an A4000T with a scandoubler).

For certain simple, graphical and sound orientated *functional* applications
I still rate Amos as the best programming language out there. When a system
has APIs available that make creating dynamic realtime displays easy to
create then Amos will no longer have any real use. On that note... what are
Amiga doing again? ;)

I'll agree with you there.

Awww Don! :)

I disagree, it's both.

Environments like JBuiilder, to me, aren't as useful as many portray them to
be. Their only main advantage over a good programmers' editor is the
ability to add certain widgets and to modify these later. However, the way
this is done currently is too like the way Frontpage modifies your HTML for
me, when an environment that behaves like Dreamweaver comes out I'll be the
first to say goodbye to my favourite little JPad.

Apologies for the lack of detail and specifics there.

All the best...

Conor
