As Nick knows my house mate has had the exact same problem with his 040PPC
board too, my 060PPC board has worked perfect from day 1... My house mate
was very excited when I forwarded the response from Kevin F. on how to fix
the problem and we tested it last night, just like Nick did.

How did you make things worse?

Yeah we got this too, and then a great error message saying "Your in trouble
now! Close all doors and wait for the end of the world, or re-run the
program" ... or something like that, I laughed and my house mate just looked
very shocked! :) hehe.

Yup this is what we did, and unlike yours Nick, hhaha, after a long wait it
WORKED, yes perfect the PPC card was brought back to life. Magic, super,
duper!! :o) Soz to do this to you Nick, looks like yours was a duffer!

One thing that MAY have made a differnece (don't know why) was disabling all
HDD devices and booting from floppy, even though they were all IDE devices
and nothing to do with the blizzppc.device ?!

My house mate is now a very happy bunny and got straight back to his coding
after a 2 month break...
