for a nightmare! I melted

You too. I had exactly the same :-(
The clock port is hidden behind my Ateo bus expansion and it only takes one
pin out of place to set fire to that cable.
I ran the CW on the IDE port for ages but eventually managed to make a lead
fromthe original CW cable headers and a 2.5" IDE drive cable. A bit fiddly
but it worked. It seesm to any=way ;)
What a nightmare trying to find the cable and connectors for the very thin
2.5" IDE type cable though !
