Does anyone here remember the "standard" Commodore C64 joystick?
Cream coloured with a black stick, its blocky base was tiny, about
two inches square. It may even have got into the early Amiga packs.
It was in my opinion, the worst controller ever made.
I didn`t have proper microswitches and it was bloody awful for games
like Decathlon (unless you took it apart and cheated).
However it did make a handy prop if you wanted to create a joystick
controlled wheelchair for an "evil" super villain.
I would say the best joysticks I`ve used are the transparent Cruiser,
which was particularly fine, or the old classic Comp. Pro, with those
lovely big squashy round red buttons.
