Are you sure that you're really using the latest bootstrap?
(ftp://ftp.sunsite.auc.dk/pub/os/linux/apus/boothack/bh000311.lha).
This bootstrap will not use ppc.library on a warpup system.
What's the output? It should say "starting ppcboot_wup" or
"starting ppcboot_pup"
