But this has the potential to cause a lot of DAMAGE. To cite once more Ben
Hermans of Hyperion Software about it: "QNX is a legal nightmare for us".
Firms like Hyperion have acquired licenses which are directly connected to the
AmigaOS. Any splitter-movement which is cut off of the Amiga Market directly
harms their sales, but on the same time out of simple legal reasons they
cannot support QNX, even if they would want. Other firms are in similar
situations that splittering the market in several small parts damages them.
And for everyone who has to - like Ben explained this to me once - argue with
people outside the Amiga market - it is simply not possible to argument for
the support of a new system which is not yet even finished, and where no
market is as of now even existing... Actually it is good news that things
don't seem to run that wee between P5 and QNX... this means the danger of a
market-split is much less. Or at least much delayed.
