Depending on the version, GCC requires or not ixemul.library
I think that all version above 2.6.x need ixemul.
Nevertheless, when you compile programs without the -noixemul option, they
will require ixemul.library to run !!
GCC always links with ixemul if the -noixemul option hasn't been passed.
