I don't know the best resources, but I was working with this once.
I downloaded the source and document files for unix Lharc in C by
the author Mr. Y. Tagawa. It has been a while and I cannot recall the
site, but with some searching it shouldn't be too hard to locate.
Lots code and short on docs, but it may be some help. I was told
this was the program amiga lha was based on.
