And?
You still have that problem today.

If the env settings are causing the crash you'�d have to go from first CLI
anyhow. What I want to prevent is the filesystem to go corrupt as the
machine crashes due to new env: settings, while writing to envarc:

Ofcourse you could go the other way around, always writing to env: first,
and if system survive, then write to envarc:, but then again, that's what
you have "use" for.
