Well, I'm not Brian, but I thought I'd throw in my $0.02.

The first Spectrum I ordered from DCAmiga was DOA. I tried for about 2
weeks to get it to work to no avail. After I convinced them it was DOA,
they said send it back to GVP to get another board. I didn't like the idea
of sending it to GVP as I felt it should go to DCAmiga, who I'd ordered it
from.

After about 2 months or more of waiting for my board, and much complaining
on my part, DCAmiga finally sent me a new card. I plugged it in and it
worked instantly with P96.

Like Brian, my trusty old A2000 is like a new computer, especially with an
'060 accelerator in it. Surfing the web is a new experience now.

P96 has a mode called "Fake Native mode" that will run some older stuff that
is not retargetable. I've used it to run some older games like MegaBalls,
but it won't run everything. To get the most of the card, you'd need a
flicker fixer, then run the FF output to the pass-thru on the Spectrum
board.

Another side note - TVPaint is great on the Spectrum, and it's free. I
didn't try to run Spectra Paint, but I doubt it's as good as TVPaint.
PageStream is really good with this set-up, too.

Regards,
Billy
