want to try the no split option to keep compatibility and the standard for
the 4GB+ support of the OS 3.5, but just after rebooting the machine once
the latest scsi.device is resident, the ata3.driver doesn't start, it seems
it can't be installed when the scsi.device patch is in memory, that causes
my 3rd drive not to be recognized and speed loss (the ata3.driver program
doesn't run).

the way the controller reads the drive geometry so I have to stay with pio4
mode (which is slower). If I switch to pio4nf mode, the OS doesn't
recognize the partitions anymore (it sez that it has bad blocks) and
hdtoolbox reports the drive has the half of the real number of cilynders, so
it reads the drive's geometry in other way or just doesn't recognize it as
it should.
