Subject: | OS3.5 install oddities |
From: "Gerald B. Mathias" <mathias@hawaii.edu>
If anyone else had problems like this, they went by before I got on the
list.
When I did Pre-Install of OS3.5, I was left with a requester reporting
"Copying Workbench.library" and hung-up mouse and keyboard. To my relief,
it rebooted normally and I was able to proceed to the regular Install.
After installation was reported complete, I tried to make an
Emergency_Boot_Disk using the option on the installation CD-ROM. I got a
requester telling me I had a faulty disk (it ain't!) and I should try
another. I got the same requester for any disk I put in df0: So I gave up.
A few days ago I got the idea of upgrading one of my Zip boot disks to 3.5,
and decided to do it with the CD-ROM instead of copying files, just to see
what happened differently.
Again, "Copying Workbench.library" ("100%") and hang. Again, "Try another
diskette" when trying to make an emergency boot disk.
