There are still new Spectrum cards out there. Whether the are still actively
supported, I don't know. I recently added one to my A2000. I'm still
debating about the driver software I'll use regularly. (CGX or Picasso96)
Being a very video oriented (NTSC) person I wouldn't want a graphics card in
the video slot.
One major reason for the Spectrum is Z2 - Z3 auto-detection. I hope to
upgrade to an A3000 or A4000. The card gets best use of both busses. It also
has a pass thru for one monitor operation in 15khz mode with the proper
monitor.
