It may be better to do a clean install from OS3.1 and update that
to OS3.5....?? This way any patches and the like are not
forgotten.

Then you need to install your original ide-fix package.

"There are problems with some Amiga 3000 models and 4x extension
cards for IDE. In this case you should extend the call of the
SetPatch (in S:Startup-Sequence) to:

C:SetPatch QUIET SKIPROMUPDATE "scsi.device"

Please keep in mind that OS3.5 does not natively support those 4x extension cards for IDE. Please use the same software which you used so far."

Illegal memory address access? probably odd?

For systems that do /not/ use an IDE 4-way adapter the new scsi.device
does not require atapi.device, but you probably need to install it from
your original IDE-Fix package during the first part of your installation.

As the quote above from support says, 4-way adapters are not
properly supported yet.

Install idefix *fresh* to the preinstall of OS3.1 then update to
3.5. ie: Do a new full install of IDE-Fix.

I do not know why the first part of YAM might crash, somebody?

sorry, can't help here either. Could it be linked to the first
problem concerning the scsi.device, and 4-way adapter?

I won't use MCP... some parts work, others are plain dangerous.
Please don't flame about this, it's my opinion and it won't change.
(I *have* checked it out.) You're all welcome to yours. :)

Always start with NO patches, most of the old ones are unnecessary
now. (not needed or required.) Many of these patches cause
instabilities, you must be very very careful and very sure.

I'm sorry, but you really do need the BoingBag_1 update. The lzx
archive is about 3.6MB. Try using HTTPResume to get it all.
